Are you an organized, proactive planner who loves to solve a puzzle? As our Work Planner | Scheduler at our vibrant Amsterdam soybean plant, you'll be the go-to person for all things mechanical maintenance, ensuring our equipment is always in top shape. You'll be the main point of contact for external contractors, playing a crucial role in keeping our operations humming.

The Soybean Factory in Amsterdam: What we do (and why it's cool)

Our soybean plant in the Amsterdam harbor is a lively hub of activity. We take soybeans shipped all the way from Brazil, South America, Canada, and Ukraine and transform them into soybean oil and soy meal. Think giant ships, siwertells unloading beans, towering silos, a crush site and a refinery —it's a pretty impressive operation! Join us and become part of this global supply chain.

Your Role: The Heart of the Team

You'll join a fun and diverse team where collaboration and achieving results together are key. As our Work Planner | Scheduler, you'll be at the center of it all, planning, preparing, and coordinating maintenance activities. Your approach will ensure timely and efficient handling, minimizing downtime and keeping our equipment operational. You'll work closely with internal colleagues and manage external contractors, acting as a key liaison. You’ll report directly to the Mechanical Supervisor.

Every Day is Different (Never a Dull Moment!)

Variety is the spice of life, and that's certainly true in this role! You'll interact with diverse individuals, tackle various projects, and handle everything from preparing and supervising maintenance work to planning and evaluating shutdowns and providing expert advice.

What You'll Do (Beyond the Basics):

  • Determine the scope of inspection, testing, repair, maintenance, and modification work.
  • Manage service and material requirements, including coordinating external vendors.
  • Request quotes and place orders, ensuring we get the best value.
  • Identify potential scheduling imbalances and propose solutions—keeping us on track.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely, prioritizing the well-being of our team.
  • Advise management on long-term maintenance needs—planning for the future.

Who You Are (Let's See if We're a Match):

You are an effective problem-solver, proactive, and a true great teammate. You connect easily with others, including colleagues from different departments. You're an encouraging colleague, always willing to lend a hand.

And of course, you have excellent communication skills and are a self-starter with:

  • Ideally at least an MBO 4 degree in a technical field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Automotive Mechanics).
  • Several years of relevant technical experience and broad technical knowledge.
  • A proactive approach to finding solutions when faced with unfamiliar challenges.
  • The ability to work in a complex environment with attention to detail.
  • Fluency in English, Dutch is a preference.
  • Experience with SAP PM and MS Office (MS Project and SAP are considered a major plus).

What We Offer (It's a Great Place to Work):

  • An exciting and rewarding role with diverse responsibilities and flexibility.
  • A competitive salary (in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement) and 23 ADV days (extra days off) in addition to your 25 vacation days.
  • A company culture that encourages personal and professional development through training opportunities.
  • A flat organizational structure with short lines of communication where initiative is valued.
  • Encouraging colleagues and managers who are invested in your success and growth.
