Master Electrician is responsible for the electrical maintenance and some instrumentation of the Destrehan, LA soybean processing facility. Candidate must actively participate in Bunge’s Employee Safety Policy and maintain a safe work environment for self and all employees.

Main Accountabilities

• Ability to read and understand ladder logic – troubleshoot and repair Programmable Logix Control (PLC) (Allen-Brady) systems, required
• Utilize the integrator to assign IP addresses to new equipment, electrical commissioning of new equipment
• Calibrate and/or troubleshoot process instrumentation, use handheld communication, required (TREX is a plus)
• Responsible for plant wide electrical troubleshooting and repair (electrical circuits of 480VAC or less)
• Troubleshoot and repair variable frequency drive (VFD) and AC/DC systems
• Ability to perform general electrician skills including but not limited to running conduit and sizing and pulling wires
• Ability to follow, interpret, and read blueprints and schematics
• Inspect for conformity to industry standards or specifications
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical components of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic industrial equipment
• Maintain electrical switchgear
• Ability to lay out and install conduit
• Working knowledge of thermography

Knowledge and Technical Competencies: 

• PLC experienced required
• HVAC experience required
• Written/Verbal communication skills 
• Ability to work in a team environment 
• Ability to work in a highly quality controlled environment 
• Ability to work in a safety conscious environment 
• Ability to maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnel 

Education/Experience

• High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
• Associates degree and/or technical certification preferred
• 5 years of industrial electrical experience preferred

Work Schedule

• Overtime required as part of the normal schedule, call out availability, and an on-call rotation
