What You Will Be Doing As An Project Manager Lead
The core focus of this role is to implement in the factories across the market project management methodologies, tools and standards to achieve planned product and or technical results within time and budget and to provide technical leadership and oversight for the execution of allocated CAPEX at market level in collaboration with the respective factories in the area.
This will be done through the following activities:
- Support the technical and industrial leadership in the market to successfully execute the project portfolio in the market, to deliver projects on time and on budget, within the expected technical specifications.
- Work with project teams in the countries to deliver projects on time and budget and to distribute lessons learned across the market.
- Lead together the industrial director and plant managers the CAPEX planning process for the market, review and prioritize projects in the market.
- Evaluate the project applications from a technical perspective and business need
- Manage the stage-gate development process as required
- Cascade and implement the minimum standards / engineering standards for facilities. Ensure that the global technical standards are available and used in the region to ensure safe and reliable design plants
- Embed other Bunge standards and procedures early in the projects: product safety, hygiene, environmental aspects, etc
- Participate in the selection of suppliers, together with the purchasing area and business areas in the specific countries
- Master the utilization of Genius/PPM and enforce the use to it as best as possible ensuring consistent and accurate reporting on project’s approval flows and implementation.
- Periodically report the progress of on the status of the main projects
- Monitor project life cycle and proactively assist facilities that are not meeting established improvement goals
- Build project management competence in the market; train and develop the project teams
The position can be based in Romania, Hungary or Turkey, and it will have two reporting lines: direct to our Director of Industrial Operations based in Budapest and Functional Reporting to our Director, Engineering and CAPEX Projects Europe, based in Barcelona.
What do we expect from our future colleague?
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required; Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Agricultural related engineering preferred
- Master’s degree or MBA preferred
- 8+ years engineering experience with at least 5 years of experience managing others
- Deep knowledge and expertise in oils chemistry, engineering and operations.
- 5 years’ experience in management of major engineering/construction projects including estimating, scheduling and cost control required; experience in oilseeds handling and processing is preferred
- Working knowledge of safety, environmental, sustainability, quality and continuous improvement
- Project management methodologies proficiency
- Understanding of the Total Cost of Ownership Concepts
- General understanding of business performance indicators as WACC, RONA and project economics.
- Must possess a demonstrated high degree of tact in dealing with plant staff and craft personnel.
- The ability to gain various stakeholders’ support for ideas, proposals, and solutions, as well as develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support.
