Position Details:
Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm, may be asked to work on Saturdays or start at 5:00am.
A Day in the Life:
The Sanitation worker position ensures the integrity and safety of food products by ensuring a clean facility.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- All job duties require attention to safe operation and demonstration of safe work habits and behaviors. This includes the use of appropriate personal protective equipment for each job task.
- Observe all Safety and Food Safety guidelines and adhere to all company rules and policies as well as good manufacturing practices.
- Know and understand the functions of cleaning chemicals used for sanitation purposes.
- Communicate effectively with supervisory staff regarding plant sanitation and safety procedures.
- Perform procedures for cleaning and sanitizing the plant and equipment.
- Clean the plant, including peripheral areas, such as overhead piping and beams, dumpster area, warehouse and cooler racking, and forklifts/pallet jacks.
- Maintain a clean work area.
- Work in temperature and humidity extremes (includes work at heights).
- Abide by all company rules and policies as well as good manufacturing practices.
- Observe all Safety and Food Safety guidelines and use proper safety equipment at all times.
- Commitment to supply safe food, maintain a food safety culture within the site, continually improve the site's food safety management system; and comply with customer and regulatory requirements.
- Additional duties as requested or assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be able to proficiently read and write in English for the purposes of record keeping and safety training and processes.
- Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good verbal and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment.
